“कर्मणये वाधिकारस्ते मां फलेषु कदाचन । मां कर्मफलहेतुर्भू: मांते संङगोस्त्वकर्मणि” ।।

and that is all first,last.

That lasts.

when you see,

what you want see.

your steps are your roads.

there is always a look forward,

no going back.

you must be a ‘soldier.’

might is right.

it is as simple.

you are warriors,

not diplomats.

and it is as simple,

you are trained to defend.

as a nation, we stand by you.

Forces,of the nation,by the nation for the nation.

Do not you pay attention,

you do your ‘karma’.

You keep us protected,

We’ll keep you respected.

Else,nothing can bloom

if you one fine day said to us,”Go to Doom”.

We honour your commitments.

To us thankless generation.

Our Soldiers!

They are martyred, atleast we bid our good byes.

We silently cry and atleast we know, they have moved on to some distinguished state of mind of ours. They are gone.

But now. We have no idea when about them: the POW/MIA*.They are too gone.

We have no option but to be there for them-

in case , they ever return.

And we might welcome them back,

Home…Homely……Hearth, Mother Earth,

takes them in arms.

To the fellows, we love a lot.

*In an moving tradition, the Indian Army keeps a table set for one, at the entrance of the dining hall of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, with the chair tilted forward, hoping to welcome the homecoming of these men some day. (Prisoners of War/Missing in Action)
